UP bans open meat purchase along Kanwar Yatra routes

• The Uttar Pradesh government, under CM Yogi Adityanath, has prohibited the sale and purchase of meat in open areas along the designated routes for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra

• CM Yogi conducted a review meeting to assess preparations, emphasizing vigilance and instructing officials to ensure water availability, food quality, and cleanliness on the route. CCTV cameras, divers, and closures of liquor and non-veg food shops were also discussed

• The administration will address potholes, install streetlights, and deploy government buses for transportation

   

   

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has decided to prohibit the sale and purchase of meat in open areas along the routes designated for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra.

CM Yogi conducted a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the preparations and arrangements made by the authorities for the Kanwar Yatra. The meeting was attended by police commissioners, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and superintendents of police.

During the meeting, CM Yogi emphasized the need for constant vigilance, especially considering that Bakri Eid will be celebrated on June 29, just before the start of the Kanwar Yatra. He instructed officials to ensure the availability of drinking water along the route and maintain food quality at the designated food camps. Cleanliness on the Yatra route was also emphasized.

The Chief Minister directed officials to install CCTV cameras along the Yatra route and deploy divers for safety measures. The Ghaziabad administration has already issued instructions for the closure of shops selling liquor and non-vegetarian food during the Yatra along the designated routes.

In addition to these measures, the administration in Ghaziabad will address potholes along the routes, install streetlights, and set up CCTV cameras. To facilitate transportation, at least 200 government buses will be deployed to ferry devotees along the two routes.
